Ya’at’eeh’! (Hello!) My name is Angelo Baca and along with co-director Sahar Khadjenoury, both Diné (Navajo) filmmakers, we made the short film “NAVAJO SOLAR SUNRISE” with support from Protect Our Winters and Patagonia to discuss the possibilities of solar power kits to remote Navajo families on the Navajo Nation. We are raising funds to provide both more solar kits for Native families in the Four Corners region, including education and screening opportunities for the film itself to get more solar power available with your generous financial support and donations. Our project was recently recognized in Outdoor Magazine’s “Outsiders of the Year” and we want to use this visibility to empower other Navajo families with solar. We are seeking these funds to go towards those in need such as elders, veterans, and health-related challenges whose quality of life could be dramatically improved.
